Shadow's SoundWhen I look back on my childhood years, it’s not the family vacations or bedtime stories I remember fondly. My most cherished memories are at night when I would lye awake, sometimes for hours, waiting for my parents and older sister to fall asleep. It was only when the house was perfectly silent I would creep out of bed and quietly walk to the window across my room. If I was lucky, I would remember the blocks, or the toy truck I had been playing with earlier that day scattered carelessly around the floor, and weave around them to ensure absolute silence. If I made it to the window unnoticed, I would pull up the blinds and wait for the fight tShadow's Sound

BreatheConcentrate on your shallow breath, In out, in out, in out. Close your eyes and picture death, In out, in out, in.Breathe
Oh, if your pen could talk, the things it could tell. In out, in out. Tight fingers, piercing grip, and how you fell.
In, out, in. Anger without words, make the voices cease, In, out. Keep your grip on reality; wake up in the regret filled sheets.
In. And oh if your pen could talk, the things it would whisper. “Fail, fail, fail.” Out.
